The famed shoe designer's second line with the Jones Apparel Group, B Brian Atwood, made its debut Tuesday evening at New York hot spot the Lion. And with Molly Sims and Hilary Rhoda in attendance, there seemed to be a plethora of women in his target market on hand.
The new shoes will sell for between $100 and $600. "They're very high and they're very sexy," Atwood told StyleList. "They combine Parisian sophistication with a little bit of disco, a little bit of leopard, a little bit of skin -- it's just a fun collection."
"She's flirty," he added of this new customer. "I think she can wear them all the time," as opposed to his higher-priced, signature collection, Brian Atwood, "which is more of a special occasion or red-carpet shoe."
But no matter what you do, do not call this collection a diffusion line.
"It's not a diffusion line; it's a second line," he stressed. "Miu Miu (from Prada) is not a diffusion line. It stands on it's own. People don't think of it as a cheaper line at all. I think they both can coexist."
B Brian Atwood shoes will be available in August 2011.
