If New York Fashion Week is all about making a statement, Alexa Chung -- in her signature quirky style -- has accomplished that feat.
Aside from the British model catching our attention with her formfitting dress adorned with sly foxes, black lace stockings, bright-red platform heels and tropical turquoise fingernails, her hair looked decisively darker when she took her front-row seat at yesterday's show.

Turns out, the 27-year-old has ditched her highlighted, surfer-style ends and covered her entire mane with a dark espresso dye. Chung was also sporting a shorter, cropped cut with the ends turned under and long, wispy bangs pushed to the side.

While we were partial to her two-tone, rocker-inspired image, this 'do still flatters her gorgeous eyes and skin, so we'll take it.

Tell us what you think? Is Chung's new hairdo stylish enough for this "it" girl? Or, do you prefer her slightly edgy, highlighted look instead?

Meanwhile, check out other celebs (and what their hair looked like!) at Fashion Week.
