DESIGNER: Prabal Gurung

INSPIRATION: Romance, whimsy and the famed fictional character Miss Havisham

WHO WAS THERE: Carolina Herrera, California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom, actress Jessica Chastain, Anna Wintour and daughter Bee Shaffer, Nina Garcia

TOP LOOKS: Crimson silk faille off-the-shoulder dress; ivory wool sheath dress with lace print; black wool dress with ostrich-feather neckline; divine slim-fitting tuxedo pants paired with ivory silk crepe blouse; fuchsia hand-draped gown with tulip hem

ACCESSORIES: High, sharp, pointed, beautiful look-at-me shoes and knee-length boots created by Nicholas Kirkwood; crisscross-patterned stockings by Wolford; black leather lace-up gloves by Carolina Amato and Daniel Storto

WHAT WE THOUGHT: The show began with a soulful rendition of "Addicted to Love" by Florence and the Machine and a perfectly tousled Karlie Kloss sashaying down the runway in a crimson-colored off-the-shoulder silk faille dress. From there, the love parade went on to include long silk georgette skirts cut on the bias, floating chiffon gowns, and even tulle blouses and frocks adorned with silk organza flowers and itty-bitty leather bows.

One could envision a rich recluse like the aforementioned Charles Dickens character swanning about in one of these creations, topped with any of the decadent ombré-dyed fox fur that Gurung showed today. The heartfelt use of colors, ranging from red to hot pink to blush to fuchsia, felt like the designer's own personal valentine to the charmed audience.
