DESIGNER: Michael Kors

INSPIRATION: Thirty years of American luxury. Sharp tailoring versus languid draping. Monochromatic dressing.

TOP LOOKS: Well-tailored slim trousers, flowing fur statement coats, jersey gowns with attached chokers

ACCESSORIES: Always making a statement with his accessories, Kors showed a couldn't-miss-it giant furry cross-body bag, which was like a welcome pet. Also, molded silver chokers and collars.

WHO WAS THERE: Who would miss this day? Not Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas, Emma Roberts, Anjelica Huston, Debra Messing, Rene Russo, Bette Midler, Angie Harmon and Patti Hansen. The runways featured Karolina Kurkova, Erin Wasson, Angela Lindvall, Isabeli Fontan, Frankie Rayder and, of course, Carmen Kass.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: Kors is always an anticipated show, but with this being the designer's 30th anniversary in the business, the crowd this season was even more frenzied. Many wondered whether Kors would resurrect his greatest hits. Well, he did and he didn't. This is a designer who constantly refines what he does season after season, so we saw things we've seen before -- crystal-encrusted gown or great fur balmacaan -- but they were slightly tweaked through color, tailoring and so on.

The blasting disco soundtrack signaled more of the 1970s-inspired clothes we've been seeing all week, but no one is better than Kors at doing body-con without sharing too much info. (Well, except for one completely sheer chiffon dress on Kass, but if we had a body like that, we'd take the catwalk naked.) Slim-cut trousers looked comfortable, the silk blouses were tailored with deep V-necks for supersexy looks, and Kors clearly believes in jumpsuits.
