She helps us drink skinny (with her cocktails), she tells us how to live skinny (in her books) and now Bethenny Frankel will help us look skinny with a new collection of shapewear.
The reality personality has inked a deal with Dreamwear to create a line of shapers under the Skinnygirl (natch) label.
The "Real Housewife" turned branding dynamo has grouped her offerings into four subcollections: The Skinny, Secret Service, Glamouflage and Show, Don't Tell. The first two groups are the usual shapers: camis, tanks, slips, briefs and leggings. The latter two feature items that can do double duty as undergarments or layering pieces that can be seen, most with lace trim.
Skinnygirl Shapers will be available on the brand's own Web site starting in mid-March, and each item will sell for between $20 and $40. QVC will reportedly feature Skinnygirl shapers for Summer 2011.
This collection pits Frankel head-to-head against her former friend and "Real Housewives of New York" co-star Jill Zarin, who launched Skweez Couture Shapewear last week during New York Fashion Week. Will it always be Team Bethenny versus Team Jill?
It seems Frankel is winning, particularly with the debut of her second solo series on Bravo, "Bethenny Ever After," which premiered Sunday evening. The debut of season four of the "Real Housewives of New York," however, was pushed back, reportedly because it was "boring."
Next up for the Skinnygirl brand? A skin-care line. Stay tuned.
