She's posed nude with lions for Bulgari, but now actress Julianne Moore is going to play a real political animal: former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The 50-year-old actress has been cast as the former Alaska governor and Tea Party activist, who is 47, for an HBO adaptation of Mark Halperin and John Heilimann's 2010 bestselling book "Game Change," CNN reports.

The book detailed the inner workings of the 2008 presidential campaign -- which included "wardrobgate," the controversy over Palin's $150,000 designer wardrobe makeover bill and her stylist's more than $50,000 fee.
Moore, also a spokesmodel for retailer Talbots, may have to ask the wardrobe department to borrow some of the brand's more buttoned-up looks to morph into the hockey-mom-turned-political-pit-bull.

Can the stunning redhead, who's typically known for her effortless style, pull off Palin's trademark updo's and signature frame-less glasses? You betcha.

Both women boast radiant complexions, petite frames and the Academy Award-nominated Moore has proven abilities as a chameleon on the screen as well as the red carpet.
