Blog: What I Wore
Blogger: Jessica Quirk
Where she lives: Indiana
Her thing: Jessica has been blogging since 2006 and taking daily outfit photos since 2007, and finally merged the two together in March 2008 as What I Wore. Her last name changed to Quirk after getting married in September 2010, which couldn't possibly be more perfect for the girl who describes her personal style as "quirky."
Jessica's wardrobe includes a lot of vintage and color (especially bright tights and shoes!). She has a knack for incorporating vintage finds alongside investment pieces and bargain buys as well as mixing and matching patterns. Breton stripes, polka dots, leopard -- she'll take it all and will style it to perfection!
Most exciting moments since she started blogging: Being a guest of @oscarPRgirl and Oscar de la Renta at the New Yorkers for Children gala last fall; being one of 24 tumblrs to be invited to NYFW, and writing and illustrating her first book, "What I Wore: Four Seasons, One Closet, Endless Recipes for Personal Style," which is loosely based on the blog and is essentially a cookbook for your closet. Look for it this summer.
Her current style obsession: "It might not be a 'style obsession,' but I'm obsessed with sewing my own clothing lately! I made a great pair of high-waisted, wide-leg trousers last weekend and I'm in love with them! This spring I foresee myself making a lot of my own pieces."
She can't believe she ever wore: "No answer! No regrets when it comes to fashion! There's always going to be a trend you'll try and look back to ask yourself, What was I thinking? But to me, fashion and getting dressed is about experimenting (and sometimes failing) with new looks."
Jessica's Fashion Fact: "Fashion Facts rock my world. But since we're seeing a lot of blending bold colors with great neutrals (à la trench coats and chinos) this spring, did you know that the word 'khaki' comes from the Persian word for 'dust'?"
