As Alice she donned romantic ruffles, and in "The Kids are Alright" she was unfussy cool. But for her latest role, hot young actress Mia Wasikowska finds herself strapped into some of the most uncomfortable garments she has worn to date -- corsets.

"I couldn't wait to get out of those things" the actress explained to our friends over at MovieFone about her costumes in "Jane Eyre." She added, "I've never been happier to be born in the time that I am in than when we first hopped into those corsets. They are as bad as everybody says -- and worse. [Laughs] ... I was so excited, I would count down the days until I had a scene in my pajamas."

The 21-year-old Australian star, who read the book prior to her casting, admits that she wants to keep doing roles that are challenging and different. She adds, "I like doing lots of different roles. I think to remain interested in [acting], it's important to challenge yourself and do things that are scary or different from something I've done before, so yeah. I want to do that; things that challenge me and challenge the audience."

She's a risk-taker on the red carpet as well, sporting intricate and detailed frocks by designers like Stella McCartney (pictured above), Rodarte for Opening Ceremony, Proenza Schouler and Miu Miu. We adore her attitude towards dressing as the pixie cut starlet loves her pieces to have a classic shape, but with an avant-garde attitude.
