Skirt: Hands down the color of the season is orange. It featured on the runways of everyone from Tory Burch to Proenza Schouler. And the skirt shape of the season? Full. So this ASOS skirt is the perfect way to experiment with those trends. You can dress it down, as we plan to do with a vintage tee. Or you can dress it up with a sheer white button down and cami.
Top: Orange is a bold color so you might be tempted with pair it with neutrals. But this season is all about bold color. So we suggest going for broke with a vibrant cobalt or purple top. Since we wanted a more casual look, we opted for a close-fitting tee (which emphasized the waistline and balances out the fullness of the skirt).
Jacket: If all that color feels a little overwhelming after all those winter blahs, temper your look a bit with a denim jacket. It's a classic topper that also happens to be huge this season, as denim sprouts up everywhere from skirts to vests to tops.
Shoes: The '70s are back in a big way this spring, especially in the form of high-waisted, wide leg and belled jeans. These retro platforms are a great investment piece perfect for that new jean shape as well as skirts like this.
