StyleList attended the FiFi Finalists Breakfast this morning at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City, where editors, advertisers, manufacturers, retailers and designers convened for the lead up to the FiFi Awards Gala, an event that highlights the year's top fragrance launches and is referred to as the "Oscars" of the fragrance industry.
The esteemed organization presented awards for Editorial Excellence in Fragrance Coverage to Allure, Elle and Marie Claire for creative fragrance reporting, and Robertet Fragrances "Seed to Scent" scooped up the Technological Breakthrough of the Year Award for fragrance creation and formulation.

The Fragrance Foundation also chose the top five nominees in 19 categories. The top runners in the 2011 FiFi race include Acqua di Gioia, Chance Eau Tendre, Gucci Guilty, Pure DKNY and Voyage d'Hermès in the women's luxe category, and Eva by Eva Longoria, Flirt! Rock-N-Rebel, Halle by Halle Berry Pure Orchid, S by Shakira and Samba Sun Woman in the women's broad appeal category.
Jean Paul Gaultier is this year's Hall of Fame inductee. And rumor has it that the organization will honor Elizabeth Taylor posthumously, whose White Diamonds remains one of the top-selling celebrity fragrances.
The winners will be announced at the annual FiFi Awards Gala on May 25.
