Well, spring has finally sprung, but it's brought with it April showers. So for this installment of The Weekender, we've put together a kicky outfit to add a spot of sunshine to a rainy day.

Style tips:

Raincoat: A khaki trench may be a classic, but we love the mod, graphic boldness of this striped raincoat. The shape mimics that of a shift dress, flattering the figure by nipping in at the waistline.

Umbrella and rainboots: Black and white patterns always look great with a punch of primary colors like this sunflower yellow umbrella or these cobalt blue wellingtons.

Dress: Just because you have a bold print on top doesn't mean that you have to keep things simple underneath. When mixing and matching patterns like these stripes and polka dots, you can create unity by choosing patterns in the same shades.

Handbag: Stick with the retro feel of the coat by choosing a structured ladylike purse like this Marc Jacobs shoulder bag.
