It would be hard not to notice Lisa Salzer in her Barneys watercolor coat. The jewelry designer (her creations have been worn by everyone from Britney Spears, to Florence Welsh to Olivia Palermo) was snapped outside her Nolita studio by our friends over at Lisa stopped to talk about her favorite item in her closet, the best place for brunch in NYC and how her business is eco-friendly.

Resurrecting long-lost treasures from decades past is Lisa's claim to fame: she took a risk with a batch of Plaza Hotel numbers she came across in a local antique shop. With modern twists like ribbon bows and chandelier pieces, the necklaces, bracelets and pins are now instant classics.

Her latest collection is in the same vein -- porcupine quills, concho belt buckles and worn leather make up her Modern Pioneer line. She breathes new life into the almost-forgotten finds.

It should be no surprise then that Lisa was photographed while wearing a perfect blend of old and new: a vintage fur shrug atop a bold coat and skinny jeans paired with one-of-a-kind jewels.
