While the beauty world was all abuzz over "nude nails" at the Chanel Cruise 2011-2012 show, we were shocked when the luxury fashion house revealed that there was indeed lacquer -- just barely.

Peter Philips, creative director of Chanel makeup, perfected a soft look that enhanced the natural beauty of models, including silver-haired Kristen McMenamy, as they sauntered down the South of France runway.

To achieve a flawless face, Philips reached for Perfection Lumiere Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup SPF 10 (available October 2011), Poudre Universelle Libre Natural Finish Loose Powder and Correcteur Perfection Long Lasting Concealer. The lit-from-within glow came courtesy of the Eclat Lumiere Highlighting Face Pen and Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Espiègle (peach-orange).

Natural, groomed brows framed the face, while eyes were lined in Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner in Ebène (asphalt), Le Crayon Kohl Intense Eye Pencil in Clair (peachy-nude), and brushed in shimmering hues from the Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eyeshadow in Prélude. By simply curling the lashes and applying a few strokes of Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Black, it added a touch of sophistication.

Lips were dressed in Soin Tendre Lèvres Hydrating Lip Treatment to provide the right amount of shine.

And what about those nude nails?

Le Vernis Nail Colour in Beige Pétale was painted onto the hands, while Jade Rose and a top coat of Limited Edition Beauté Des Top Coat Velvet were on the feet.
