January Jones Pregnant in Sheer Top: New Trend for Mamas?

We know expectant mothers are proud of their little packages, but is donning a sheer top just TMI?

First Charlotte Gainsbourg wore a black see-through blouse over her baby bump in Cannes, and now January Jones has been spotted rocking the same look while walking her dog with a friend in L.A. Are sheer tops a new trend for mothers-to-be?

We think the "Mad Men" star looks kinda cool in hers. It's an improvement over Charlotte's attempt, so we're excited to see how far this motherhood fad can go. And while we've never been pregnant ourselves, we can only imagine that it gets pretty hot carrying around the extra poundage. Sheer fabric probably gives mom a cool breeze, no?

Looking good! Photo via GONZALO/bauergriffinonline.com

Maybe seven-months-pregnant Victoria Beckham will be next to jump on the sheer-top train. She could probably afford some more stylish yet functional maternity wear. Remember those sky-high heels she wore to the royal wedding? Ouch.

What do you think of the sheer top look for mothers-to-be?

This whole ensemble is a hot mess! She looks like she got out of bed, threw on a sweater and boots, and left the house. Not to mention the whole sheer top trend is really stupid unless you are walking the red carpet somewhere, or are at the beach.

Do you get all dressed up to walk the dog at 6AM? Usually it's grab the first top and bottom I see, add a jacket or sweater and run out the door. I would prefer that my dog do her business outdoors not inside while I'm primping ! :)

Jackiemorr,

I guess you didn't realize the point of the article was asking what we thought of her outfit. They didn't qualify it by saying she just rolled out of bed at 6:00am. So, I guess if that's what you want to look like to walk the dog, that is fine. If, unfortunately, that is what you wore the night before, it still looks terrible.

@jackie... gee, I must've missed the part where it says it's 6 a.m.... and are you thinking she doesn't know there's photographers outside waiting to take her picture. To all of this, I say "Gee, pregnant girl, who gives a flying f*?"

How insignificant to the grand scheme of life is this woman whom many of us have never even heard of and her poor choice in fashion design.

Right on. Love the comment. Why do celebrities have such poor taste? And what makes them celebrities?

How revolting! Glancing through the AOL news, I see this woman whom I've never heard of and am expected to be interested in her poor choice of clothing and her overestimation of the importance of her pregnant belly.

Nothing is good about this see through outfit. I don't understand nowadays why these silly celebrities try to expose their bodies once they develop baby bumps. We know they're pregnant. It's not necessary to prove it by being vulgar!

I had 5 kids and know that being pregnant you want to feel comfortable, but you can be cool and comfortable without showing everything. I am no prude but I feel that showing your baby "bump" in the raw is going a bit far...there are little kids that will see her and ask questions that might not be so easy to answer. Just having a "bump" is one thing but going naked is another.

If she were wearing ANY clothes over a clearly large pregnant belly kids might ask questions...they're not stupid. Moreover, why not tell your kids what pregnancy is? It's where they came from. "Well, honey, her tummy is big because she's going to have a baby and that's where babies grow before they're born" if you don't want to address sex. Jesus. Easy.

Why Why would anyone wear this? some things should just be covered up and not meant for the whole world to see.

Seems like if staying cool is the main concern, you wouldn't wear all black, including tall black leather boots...

I don't have a problem seeing pregnant women with a sheer top on but the one this celeb is wearing is pretty tacky. There are many other women that wear skin tight tank tops and let their belly hang out which looks very trashy and there are women that practically wear circus tents. I've been pregnant and during AZ summers so I get the sheer thing but I've seen much nicer tops than january's. it's not nice looking.
