As warm weather fast approaches, we're ready to ditch our skinny jeans for some loose, flowy printed pants. So naturally, we love the fluid fabrics seen on the spring 2011 runways. Pajama-inspired trousers from designers like Michael Kors and Céline had a louche, easy charm. And happily the trend isn't going to fade with our summer tans, if fall collections such as Tommy Hilfiger's are any indication.
However, if you're the sort who believes that pajamas are best left in the bedroom, or simply aren't willing to embrace a pair of printed pants with a designer price tag, we challenge you to try out the trend, commitment-free: Invest in a great pair of pajama pants from Brooks Brothers, Gap Body or another sleepwear purveyor, and style with booties and a chicly draped tee. To channel the Tommy look's animal magnetism, try a leopard-print pair. Can't live without your go-to denim? We suggest J.Crew's chambray bottoms. If you ultimately decide you're not keen on the look, you'll still have a stylish new bedtime staple.
