Even if they didn't walk away with a coveted golden popcorn statuette, MTV's leading ladies served up their red-carpet best at Sunday's 20th annual MTV Movie Awards.

Balmain Beauties: Beads 'n' studs were the name of the game, as Leighton Meester, Kristen Stewart, and Mila Kunis brought Balmain's Fall 2011 runway to the Hollywood, CA locale. Meester and "Friends With Benefits" star Kunis channeled '70s glamour -- Kunis with her glossy, pin straight locks and middle part, and Meester in a long-sleeved minidress. The "Twilight" starlet kept things playfully edgy in her safety-pin/stud encrusted frock and basic black pumps.

Welcome to the Jungle: These stunners went wild, stepping out in an array of bold animal prints. "Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon"actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's gams looked endless in her tan Dolce & Gabbana dress and strappy Sergio Rossi Totem heels, while Lily Collins opted for a fitted, smoky-grey sheath from Dolce & Gabbana as well. Reese Witherspoon showed off her curves in a sweetly sexy Zac Posen frock, and nabbed the MTV Generation Award -- not too shabby.

Edgy Whites: White was anything but basic on these ingenues. Victoria's Secret model Erin Heatherton arrived in a bright, asymmetrical Altuzarra shift dress and accessorized her look with a sun-kissed tan. Emma Watson earned top marks in her Marchesa sheath, accessorizing its embellished collar with metallic Brian Atwood pumps. She kept the love going for Marchesa later that evening, slipping into a chartreuse number for the afterparty. Selena Gomez turned heads in a delicately detailled Giambattista Valli minidress. We don't know whether that glow is from her CoverGirl NatureLuxe foundation, or her budding romance with the Biebs, but she hit it out of the park.
