Blake Mycoskie's got some serious savvy when it comes to melding fashion and philanthropy. His company TOMS Shoes has become an inspiring model with their "One for One" business structure where for every pair of shoes sold, a pair is donated to a child in need throughout the world. Now he's taking the brand to the next level and adding sunglasses into the mix.
Yesterday, TOMS launched their own line of eyewear and instead of just giving away a pair of prescription glasses to the impoverished and visually impaired, they're taking that "One for One" theory another step further. Realizing that issues with sight can be so varied from person to person, each donation will be tailored to the specific needs of each individual - they will provide either sight-saving surgery or medical treatment if the free spectacles just aren't enough.
It's a bold move but one that'll certainly do well with the incredible vision of TOMS behind it.
