We've long admired Johnny Depp's offbeat style, and we're not alone: Last year GQ deemed the actor an "Icon of Eccentric Cool" in its roundup of the 25 most stylish men in the world, and Barneys' Simon Doonan weighed in, proclaiming that "It doesn't matter if Johnny Depp's lying in a ditch -- he's always going to look incredible." Depp's good taste extends to his impeccably put-together female companions; he's usually spotted with a stylish squeeze like former flame Kate Moss or current partner Vanessa Paradis on his arm. In honor of Depp's 48th birthday today -- and his recent return to the big screen as the rakish Jack Sparrow in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" –- we've rounded up some of Johnny's gal pals' most memorable fashion moments.

Are you talking about the "Dark Shadows" from the 60's? I loved that, I watched it when I was small......loved Barnabus....and Angelic

When will Depp release Dark Shadows? I'm guessing that's not his decision to make. There's a lot of suits and ties making those business decisions along the way. He's just the actor. He doesn't call the shots on production schedules or release dates.

Yeah, I noticed that, too. But I think it's just Johnny's cool-boy image that makes him scowl like that all the time, not the women. You know, the dark, brooding, deep-thinking type?

I like Johnny Depp, he's just eccentric that's all. Maybe if he quit hanging out with Roman Polanski he'd smile some more. He would make a great Charles Manson. Polanski could direct.

To the commenters who believe Depp is gay and is hiding it from you: If he were gay, I don't think he would care especially if you knew it.

You called Depp a wimp. Shame on you, because he came to fame on his own, with unforseen talent and made a name for himself. People like you are jealous, because you are not him with nothing but negitive thoughts. I'm proud of someone from nowhere, became a man from everywhere.
SHAME SHAME ON YOU.

Johnny Depp is one of the greatest actors on the planet. He can play any part. Someone mentioned he never is photographed smiling when he is with a woman. Johnny has many looks to reflect different moods. Who knows him well enough to say why he smiles? Take a look at Captain Jack Sparrow. When he plays that character, his smiles convey a multitude of mirth, passion and confidence. God! I love this guy and so do more people than you have ever known in your lifetime. He is famous and well deserved. Talent is something you cannot buy. Johnny has it naturally. So, please leave off making suppositions about him and why he smiles. You notice I said please which is more polite than some of the comments in here.

Oh yeah. What's with all the advertising for the gods know what? I sure wish people would get a clue that no one reads that crap and cease doing it. Isn't anyone monitoring this stuff?

Thank you for writing what I was about to.
This thing about Depp being gay is just that, "Stuff," which is a first cousin to "Trash talk." He has a son, Jack.
As for not looking happy in photos, try working in Hollywood as long as he has, and see how long it takes to get sick of having your picture taken.
I believe I'd move to south France too.

About those Penny Auction ads... You can tell that the "author" of the post has never won anything in a "penny" auction. If she had she would know that when you purchase a "bid package" every one of your "bids" is costing you whatever the price of the "bid package" divided by the number of bids in the "bid package". For example:
Bid package cost: $40. Number of bids in $40. bid package = 50 Cost per bid = $0.80.
Every time you place a bid it is costing the bidder 80 cents. Ten bids = $8.00 Twenty-five bids = $20.00
Each bid ups the current high bid by one penny (not 80 cents). If a $250 Gift Card is won by the high bidder for $48.00, the "Penny Auction" has made $3888.00. (4800 penny bids x 80 cents per penny bid = $3840.00 plus the final winning bid of $48.00 = $3888.00)
So when the "lucky" winning bidder asks "How can they (the Penny Auction folks) afford to give away a $250 Gift Card for $48.00?", the answer would be: for the $3638.00 profit (assuming their cost was $250 which I seriously doubt).
The final aspect of the "Penny Auction" game is even more ridiculous. As I point out in the example above, each
bid costs the bidder 80 cents. Let's say that only 100 different bidders were interested in bidding on the $250 Gift Card. Each bidder places 48 penny bids. Each bidder has spent $38.40 for a $250 Gift Card. But the real rub is that only ONE wins. The "winner" will have spent $86.40 for the $250 card (what a deal, right?). The other 99 losing bidders have each spent a non refundable $38.40 for absolutely nothing. DUMB
Another little Penny Auction trick is adding additional minutes in the last minute of the auction. This process continues until no one else places a bid in that last window of time given during the final countdown. In this case that would mean that the other 99 bidder just gave up. It also means that a one hour auction could become much longer than one hour.
If you think that the above information does not accurately portray the Penny Auction game, go to one and check it out yourself. Many of them are very elusive in their description of the bidding process, but it you check around you'll find some that really lay it all out there and hope like hell that your math skills are nonexistent. Don't actually invest any money to find out just because you think you could beat the system and be the bidder who only places one bid, the last bid, and wins. Odds on that happening: Slim to None.
If you want to bid in an online auction, try any of the many legitimate sites like eBay or Amazon where you're not required to purchase a "bid package".
Rebuttal to this post will most likely come from so-called penny auction "winners". Shills as they're known in the auction game, AKA employees of the Penny Auction website they name in their post.
