Kiddie Worn: Childrens Wear For Adults Only

Kristin Chenoweth recently proclaimed her love for GapKids to People Magazine. "I can wear a size 12/14," the diminutive actress revealed.

Even if you are not as pint-sized as the Broadway star (88 pounds) you might be able to slip into some of the merchandise in the juniors department. Besides, there's no shame in donning preteen fashion. These days it's as stylish as designer duds and it's easier on the wallet.

Some of our most sartorially savvy friends snatched up the Balmain-esque military jackets in Stella McCartney's GapKids collection in 2009. And we're now eagerly awaiting the chain's upcoming childrenswear collaboration with Diane von Furstenberg -- and we don't have kids.

A Brooks Brothers blazer would be a smart addition to our work wardrobe, while this Crewcuts ikat-print number is apropos for weekend brunch or a night on the town. We love the understated sophistication of this trench by 3.1 Phillip Lim. And of course, we'd happily be seen at any party in one of the little girl frocks Lanvin recently debuted.

So which children's department would you secretly like to shop?

Children's sweaters are a perfect fit for CeCeToppings! Now we can wear a cashmere sweater fitted and have the look of an amazing shirt underneath!

So now, it won't be enough to be a size 3 or 1?

Now, women should be able to fit into kid's clothes?

Acck.

I couldn't have said it better myself! At 88 pounds, I would consider myself on death's door - even though I'm only 5'2". I guess Stylist is pro anorexia, along with the rest of the fashion world. I'd rather be healthy and non trendy than super skinny and in a coffin!

When was the last time you saw a kid wearing a bandmaster's jacket other than, perhaps, at band practice?

man, I sure will be glad when the kids, mainly the black youths stop wearing the clothes that DON'T FIT them because they are 3 sizes too LARGE and start wearing the proper fitting clothes the size they're supposed to be wearing! And STOP with the disgusting sick fad or craze of wearing your trousers, pants, jeans belted at the knoees and showing everyone in the neighborhood your silk or nylon boxers! Grow Up and Pull Your Pants UP! You are ALL disgusting!

To Ann or ann, whichever you prefer in your need to double-post: I believe the proper usage is "etc., etc., etc.".
The abbreviation "etc," is a shortened version of "etcetera".

But, aside from that, I thought this article was totally worthless and not of value as national "fashion news".
Tiny women can wear kids clothes.
What's the big deal?

Where do kids wear clothes like this? Certainly not to school. If they did they would be laughed out. They would be called Nerds or worse. The trend in clothes kids have taken is pretty plain. Just jeans and shirts.

An ikat print on children's clothing? Considered inexpensive? Anything I have seen in an ikat print is very, very expensive (such as a scarf costing around $100). That is not inexpensive to my way of thinking and I would not put a child in such an expensive item only to be ruined.

Am I crazy, or is does the title of this article begin "Kiddie Worn..."? If I am not mistaken, I would say that it is a play on words for the term "kiddie porn". Please, someone tell me that I am mistaken because if I am not wrong, this implies that child pornography is becoming okay enough to be used in a totally flippant manner, instead of remaining the disgusting and sickening thing that it should remain to be.
