The luxury beauty brand has sponsored the American designer's fashion shows for several seasons, as well as collaborated on a coral-pink lipstick called Chris & Tell that launched to much fanfare last spring. So it came as no surprise that the two would team up once again.
Just in time for summer, Benz puts his stamp on a limited-edition tote filled with Lancôme favorites when you spend $60 or more this month at Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks.com.
"I wanted to do a great bag because I thought who wants another one of those zipper pouches. You have a million of them," Benz tells StyleList. "I would open up my mom's cabinet and see those and ask her, 'What do you even use these for?' I just thought what's the most fun, ideal summer fashion moment and I felt like it's all about a tie top, big straw hat and high heel sandal."
The fabulous printed tote comes with warm-weather must haves including Définicils Precious Cells Mascara, Absolue Hand and Juicy Tube -- sparing plenty of room to toss the three things Benz believes every woman needs this summer: sunglasses, a long skirt and flats.
Curious to know what the pink haired designer will pack into his canvas bag this summer? Read on.
Skin care essentials: I've been using Oxy Pads since middle school – it's totally routine to me and I'm obsessed with the fragrance. I also got to try the Génifique products before they were on the market. I slap on the night cream, wake up in the morning and am like "Aah!" I go super simple on body lotion. I use Eucerin. I feel like if it's been on the market for a while, I'll buy it. There's a shaving crème that they [Lancome] have for men that I think girls should try for their legs because it's like butter. There's Santa Maria Novella aftershave balm that smells strange but I always need on vacation. I'm totally low-maintenance. I feel like the less you do the better.
iTouch-worthy summer jams: Lady Gaga has been coming on random play a lot. At the studio we made a playlist for the resort collection which was inspired by Bermuda, so we have a lot of great 50s Caribbean music. Plus, Kanye [West] and Nicki Minaj.
