We're not quite sure when the courthouse steps became the equivalent of a fashion runway, but actors, musicians and athletes have been showing up for trial in style.

Most recently, actress Lindsay Lohan arrived at her progress report hearing in flowy maxi dress, two-tone satin jacket and pricey accessories: an Azzedine Alaïa studded belt, bow-adorned Christian Louboutin heels -- which she has worn to court in the past -- and Chloe 2145 sunglasses. The overall look was was a demure departure for Lohan who usually wears skin tight numbers on and off the red carpet.

But not all offenders clean up like Lohan, Courtney Love and Pamela Anderson should have been sentenced to fashion counseling for their criminal ensembles. Stars like Rihanna, Jackie O. and Naomi Campbell nailed chic courtroom style -- a look that should be polished and sophisticated while still displaying true personal style.
