Boutique Spotlight: Shop Good

Oklahoma City denizens seeking casual-cool staples have flocked to Shop Good since it opened in November 2009, thanks to wallet-friendly prices and the store's socially conscious point of view: According to owner Justin Falk, its motto is "every purchase gives back."
In fact, many of the products are connected to a specific charity or a community development project. Sseko sandals, for example, are handmade by and benefit women in Uganda. Another top seller is Warby Parker's prescription eyewear, which retails for less than $100 (and for every pair sold, one will be given to someone in need). Their do-good persona extends outside of the realms of fashion. Case in point: Their August 10th "Mustache bash" benefitting Sunbeam Family Services' program for teen moms.
Aesthetically, Falk favors vintage-inspired duds. Among his favorites? Oakland-based indie label Many Belles Down's floral prints and Good Society's organic, fair-trade denim.
Falk says Shop Good's in-house line of graphic tees, some of which picture Oklahoma City's skyline or other hallmarks of local culture, remain popular with customers. "We love that there's a lot of Oklahoma City pride. We're pretty aware that we're not LA or New York. But we're really an up-and-coming city. I think a lot of us are pretty proud of that and excited about where the city's going."
