The disheveled glamour of Tippi Hedren in Alfred Hitchcock's film The Birds is sort of undeniable. Even in the throes of widespread, unexplainable avian chaos, Hedren manages to look ladylike--if not a little tousled. But all for the better. This 1963 movie, based on a 1952 novella, depicts a series of violent, quasi-apocolyptic bird attacks on a small Californian town -- mostly targeted towards Hedren's character, Melanie Daniels.
This week we're channeling the slightly bedraggled-yet-elegant heroine of this eery, classic horror film, which reminds us of the coiffed beehives at Bottega Veneta this fall and the appealingly-undone hair at Proenza Schouler this past spring.
