Angelina Jolie Covers Vogue, Talks Style, Baby Weight, Brad Pitt - and, Yes, Shiloh

Despite those superglam getups she sports in Vogue's December issue, Angelina Jolie admits she's in a bit of a fashion rut.

"As Brad'll tell you -- and my kids -- apparently Mommy only wears black," says Brad Pitt's other half, who posed for Vogue's cover in a backless white number that reveals -- yup! -- a black lace-up corset.

But Jolie -- who wore a Neil Barrett cropped jacket, Helmut Lang pants, and Ferragamo flats for her interview -- says that turning to the dark side has nothing to do with being Goth or glam. It's just practical.

"I like to get up so every pair of pants goes with every top, every dress goes with every shoe. I've a very tiny closet," she tells the magazine.

"Brad's always laughing at me. Some days, yes, I have the nightgown that looks like a dress that I can sleep in and pick the kids up at school. And maybe take a meeting if I switch into heels."

Jolie definitely ups the wow factor in her Mario Testino photo shoot for Vogue.

In one shot, the elegant actress is seen pinning up her hair in a custom Colleen Atwood corset with lace trim, and a Club Monaco cashmere cardigan tied around her waist.

Another photo has her flaunting her mile-long legs in an Yves Saint Laurent satin tuxedo jacket, banded shorts, and patent leather sandals with rhinestone heels.

The regal star is also seen walking along a terrace of topiaries in a glorious Carolina Herrera fuchsia satin evening dress with bow details.

In the accompanying interview, Jolie dishes about her personal life, including what it's like being in a relationship with one of the world's sexiest guys.

"Well, he's a handsome man," she acknowledges before finding herself at a loss for words. "No, I think he's an extremely sexy -- extremely handsome and the most sexy...

"When I think about him, I just think of the man who's such a great friend and such an extraordinary father. And that's when I fall, you know, when I have my moments of getting -- whoarr! -- caught up in how much I love him... it's usually when I see him with the children."

Ah, the children.

The mother of Maddox, 9, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 4, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 2, says that she decided to do this summer's spy thriller "Salt" partly because she wanted to get back into shape after her double delivery.

"I was feeling very round and lovely and Mom-y, and I'd been living in a nightgown for a very, very long time," she explains. "Practicing the stunts is where you get your strength back."

Her follow-up film, "The Tourist" -- which arrives in theaters Dec. 10 -- gave Jolie the opportunity to wear fabulous clothes (including an original Charles James day dress) and spend time in gorgeous Venice with Pitt and the kids.

Speaking of kids, Jolie tells Vogue a story about daughter Shiloh that might stir up a mini scandal, but it has nothing to do with the tot's tomboy wardrobe.

"I am sure there's going to be some comment about this, which fortunately I will not read," she says before telling her tale.

"Shiloh found a dead bird, so she came in and said, 'Can I have a dead pet?' And I'm... 'Uh-uh, I don't think it's healthy, honey. I think they have to put him in a box,' and I had to run out to find, like, a taxidermy bird...

"I figured that I couldn't keep the actual dead bird from the yard, so I swayed her toward one that had been cleaned, at least."

Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr is revealing just where babies come from in the Family Issue of W magazine.

In the tradition of Demi Moore and just about any famous female who has ever gotten pregnant, Kerr, who announced in August that she was "four months along" with hubby Orlando Bloom's child, bares her baby bump by posing nude.

The tasteful black-and-white shot -- snapped by Patrick Demarchelier -- shows the six-and-a-half-months-pregnant stunner standing in profile, wearing nothing but fresh-out-of-the-shower, slicked-back hair as she cradles baby Bloom in her belly.

"For me, family is life. The decision to start one wasn't complex at all," says 27-year-old Kerr, who learned of her pregnancy while shooting a Jil Sander campaign in Paris.

"I was wondering why I'd been so sick," the Aussie beauty tells the magazine, adding that she and Bloom, 33, have chosen not to find out the sex of their child. "We're keeping it a surprise."

One thing that's not a surprise, however, is Kerr's desire to spend more time with her family once the baby arrives.

"My career has been wonderful, but it's not my life. I don't feel pressure to get back to work," she says. "My goal involves a hammock, a vegetable patch, and a solar-powered house. And I hope to eventually get there."

The Family Issue of W, which also features family portraits of Katherine Heigl and daughter Naleigh, Madonna and daughter Lourdes, and Usher and his sons Usher and Naviyd, hits newsstands on Nov. 10.

Chanel No. 5 Has New Jersey Roots, Says New Book

Ah, New Jersey. Land of JWoWW, the Situation... and Coco Chanel?

Eau, yes!

According to a new book about the creation of Chanel No. 5, the sophisticated scent has its roots firmly planted in the Snooki State, reports the New York Post.

Author Tilar Mazzeo reveals in "The Secret History of Chanel No. 5" that during World War II, the fragrance halted production in France and moved its factory to America to escape the Nazis.

Using ingredients smuggled into the States, the luxurious perfume, which was introduced in 1920 and combined the aromas of roses and jasmine, continued to be manufactured in New Jersey.

Mazzeo writes that Chanel, who reportedly became a Nazi sympathizer during that period and took up with an SS officer, was not exactly pleased with the new, less-than-chic headquarters.

"It is monstrous," sniffed the orphan turned clothing designer. "They produced it in Hoboken!"

Following the war, production returned to France, and Chanel No. 5, which sells for $400 an ounce, went on to become a favorite of stars from Marilyn Monroe to Nicole Kidman.

"Perfume, it's the most important thing," Chanel insisted.

We're pretty sure Snooki has said the same about hair spray.

Jessica Alba Covers Elle Magazine, Shows off Her Softer Side

There's something funny about Jessica Alba.

No, seriously -- the sexy star tells the December issue of Elle magazine (the Accessories Issue) that she loves doing comedy and plans to start flexing her funny bone with more films like her latest effort, "Little Fockers."

"When I was a kid, I watched Lucille Ball every day," says the star, who poses for Elle's cover in an "I Love Lucy"-era ensemble of a bubble-gum pink, off-the-shoulder raffia toile jacket and stretch denim shorts by Dior, a Miu Miu leather belt, and baubles from Bulgari, Tony Duquette, and Dior Fine Jewelry.

"I watched Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, and Peter Sellers," she notes.

While Alba has had her share of femme fatale roles, she says she's at her most comfortable when going for the laugh.

"I'm shy. I don't like being the center of attention," she reveals. "But when I do comedy. I lose all inhibition and introspection. I no longer care."

That's not to say Alba's giving up her sultry side.

In her Elle feature, shot by Carter Smith, the 29-year-old is seen looking flirty in a sherbet-pink-and-orange Yves Saint Laurent number with a piped toile bandeau top and matching high-waisted skirt accessorized with armfuls of color-coordinating bangles from Sequin, Alexis Bittar, and Dinosaur Designs, and lying seductively in a field of flowers in a flowing pink Carolina Herrera textured organza gown and chunky, tropical-colored bracelets from Kenneth Jay Lane, R.J. Graziano, and Dinosaur Designs.

Meanwhile, Alba says she is choosing her projects wisely, mainly because she's made family a priority over films.

"The time I'm not spending with my kid has to be worth it," says the mother of 2-year-old Honor Marie, "so when I sat down with my agents after I was ready to go back to work, I told them: It's all about the directors."

In fact, Alba tells Elle, "Now I prefer I'm not the lead. It's a totally different approach -- way better."

Katy Perry Shines on Harper's Bazaar, Talks Elmo, Breast Reduction, Russell Brand

Katy Perry is leaving the rainbow wigs, cupcake bras, and crystal-studded candy pants behind for a super-chic photo shoot for December's Harper's Bazaar.

"I have multipersonality disorder -- in a very good way, of course -- when it comes to my fashion choices," says the singer, who dazzles on the cover in a silver tank dress by Reed Krakoff and minimal makeup. "When I first started playing around with my look, it was more of a Dita Von Teese pinup thing."

It turned out, however, that the burlesque look was too time consuming. "Dita's really dedicated," notes Perry, who posed for photographer Alexi Lubomirski in sophisticated, stripped-down styles like a sleek dark Dolce & Gabbana suit with a white tie-neck blouse, and a flirty white dress and sky-high platforms from Calvin Klein with Alexis Bittar cuffs.

While Perry may have taken style cues from Von Teese, she doesn't want to be confused with colorful contemporaries like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Fergie.

"We're all unique. That's why we all win and we all can exist," she explains. "People don't want just vanilla. They want 31 flavors. I couldn't do what Rihanna does. I couldn't do what Gaga does. They can't do what I do."

Like those women, Perry often sports outrageous styles, perhaps because her not-quite-model-perfect body can make dressing difficult.

"I'll tell you about my boobs and fashion: It can be hard to wear those looks," she says of couture clothing, "because they're best on people who have no curves or thighs. I don't have a Kate Moss body, but I'm very proud and happy with mine."

That wasn't always the case. Perry reveals that at age 13, she wanted to get a breast reduction. "I had really bad back problems and was a little bit thicker," she explains. "Then I grew up and lost the baby fat and said, 'Hey, this isn't all that bad.'"

Elmo might disagree. "Sesame Street" recently snipped Perry's duet with the Muppet over fears that she her low-cut top showed off a little too much of her lung power.

"Well, thank God I was wearing Giles [Deacon]!" Perry jokes, adding that she was unaware that her clothing was controversial. "If there had been a problem on the set, they would have said it to me at the outset. We had many different options."

As for her "SNL" skit poking fun of the scandal, she says matter-of-factly, "How do you respond otherwise?"

While Elmo may not be returning Perry's phone calls anytime soon, she could care less now that she's found bliss with hubby Russell Brand.

"I always knew I wanted a great man of God, someone who was going to be an inspiration for people and also be a lovely husband and father," she says.

"We're at different places in our lives, but we can still grow together. He's thought-provoking, articulate, a real advocate. I also definitely wanted to have a laugh. I have all that in him."
