Sundance Channel Relaunching Full Frontal Fashion with Four New Shows

Erin Fetherston Sundance Full Fontal Party

"Project Runway" fans, listen up. Now you've got four more shows that reveal the grit it takes to produce fashion.

In honor, the Sundance Channel held a party to promote its reinvention of Full Frontal Fashion at NYC's newest hot spot atop The Standard Hotel.

Look for two new TV shows, "The Red Carpet Issue" (Feb. 14 at 1 p.m.) and "Savile Row" (Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.) and two Web series, "Dirty Denim" and "Catwalk Countdown," which follow 10 up-and-coming designers including Erin Fetherston, Chris Benz and Vena Cava while they prepare their lines to show at the Bryant Park.

Glittering guests like model Coco Rocha, ANTM's Miss J Alexander, and a dapper Brad Goreski -- sans sidekick Rachel Zoe -- gathered to celebrate the designers, shows and the future of fashion around the hotel's swimming pool.

Most of the stiletto-wearing, champagne-swilling crowd wisely avoided the water, as if they had just watched "Jaws" on cable, and we spoke to some designers as we also watched our step.

It seems the curtain is being lifted and the men and women doing the dirty work to create the clothes we wear are more exposed than ever. We asked designer Chris Benz if that was a good thing.

"It's great for people to see what the real work of a designer is! There is very little actual drama, which might surprise people, but the glimpse of the labor, the art of it, is very interesting."

Erin Fetherston, who recently designed a capsule collection for Target, (mostly) agrees.

"Project Runway" doesn't accurately depict what goes into preparing a line for New York Fashion Week. The industry has remained enigmatic. This will be an interesting piece of the puzzle."

Fetherston is known in fashion circles as an ace poker player, so she clearly enjoys keeping her cards close to the vest.

When asked exactly how much she enjoys playing poker, she answered, "Let's just say my poker nickname is 'The Blonde Widow.'"

With an name like that, we're not calling her bluff!

Stuart Weitzman Boots Giveaway. Plus, His Tips on How to Wear

For most of us, "thigh high" is not the most inviting fashion phrase ever uttered.

But after laying eyes on Stuart Weitzman's gorgeous "HiLo" boots, $650; Jildor.com, you might be singing a different tune, which is why we're offering you a chance to win a pair!

There's no denying that this uber-tall style is the boot of the season and, surprise, Victoria Beckham led the way.

If you thought you'd never go this far, a top designer's words of wisdom just might change your mind about how to approach this huge trend. Think: Parisian woman fetching coffee and croissants in 1968, not pre-makeoever Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman."

Shoe guru Stuart Weitzman gives StyleList tips for pulling off (er, on) the trend.

  • These boots are made for a woman who wants to be noticed. Comfort and confidence are key.
  • Stick with classic colors. Brown and black work, and the less ornamentation the better.
  • It is OK to show skin with the high-heel thigh high. But with the flat thigh high, it should be worn with tights, with jeans tucked inside, or with a mini skirt paired with tights.
  • I would say these work best with a simple outfit. Color is certainly not forbidden, but let the thigh-high be the wow factor and the ultimate accessory.

Check out other chic over-the-knee styles at Jildor.

And now that you're a convert, enter to win your very own pair of this season's must-have item -- the Stuart Weitzeman "HiLo" boot.

Here's how to enter:

  • To enter, leave a confirmed comment telling us what you'd wear the boots with.
  • The comment must be left before 5pm ET December 15, 2009.
  • You may enter only once. One winner will be selected in a random drawing.
  • One winner will receive a pair of "HiLo" Stuart Weitzman thigh high boots (valued at $650).
  • Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are 18 and older.

Sienna Miller and Sister Savannah Inspired by Kate Moss

The Sisters Miller: Savannah (left), and Sienna (right). Photo courtesy of Twenty8Twelve

Savannah Miller is tall, gorgeous, passionate about fashion and half of design duo Twenty8Twelve. Her counterpart? Sister Sienna, maybe you've heard the name?

Ya know, Jude Law's ex, Vogue cover model and current Broadway actress.

After an intimate champagne-filled dinner at the Royalton Hotel in NYC, StyleList had a chance to catch up with the chic siblings to discuss the brand's Summer 2010 collection.

"We wanted to capture the heat of summer," Savannah told us. "We dip-dyed some garments in bleach to make them look sun-washed, chose washed-out linen as one of our main fabrics and kept the whole look deconstructed. Picture Kate Moss in Ibizia -- it has that kind of vibe," she explained.

Every piece in the line evokes that summery feeling -- lounging in a hammock somewhere breezy, quiet and salty.

Just like their previous collections, the pieces for summer are classic with a twist: a double-breasted organza jacket is sheer so that the shoulder pads show through, while a white T-shirt is festooned with small buttons to make the seams fall off-kilter.

"That's what makes it cool and unique," Savannah says. And we couldn't agree more.

America's Most Stylish Blogger: Backstage at Challenge #1

Kelly Cutrone and Melssa Foss host the first challenge in the search for America's Most Stylish Blogger.

Hosting the first challenge breakdown for America's Most Stylish Blogger turned out to be even more fun than I thought it would be. And by fun, I mean exciting, inspiring, and at times, nerve-wracking.

Our shoot on Monday featured guest expert Kelly Cutrone of People's Revolution. You've seen her on The City and The Hills, and her tell-it-like-it-is reputation was enough to make me have images of her turning to me and saying something like, "You know that [insert a part of my ensemble here] is so O-V-E-R."

But she was actually really cool, and I learned a lot from her. I hope our contestants will too. Her comments were well thought-out and she gave specific advice to back up her opinions. And, really, it's much better to hear constructive criticism than hear another fashion person squeal, "You look fabulous, dahling!"

The big takeaway from her was to keep your styling simple. Create a look and own it.
