The Gap has really been invested in their new, more personal marketing strategy lately - the iconic label's video exploring the inside history of the 1969 denim label have been all over the place throughout the last couple of weeks. Now, they're taking it to the next level and adding food into the mix.

Gap 1969's got a taco truck hitting the road and heading to L.A., New York, Chicago and San Francisco. Cleverly called "Pico de Gap," it'll park itself out in front of various music events, street festivals, nightclubs and of course Gap stores, to dish out items from custom-designed menus by chefs, foodies and some Top Chef alums like Katie Lee, Marcel Vigneron, Ryan Scott and Rick Gresh.

Also, new 1969 denim will be on display at Pico de Gap and if you bring in a receipt from a Gap purchase from the same day, your tasty taco will cost nada. Not to mention, everyone who visits the food truck will get a $20-off coupon to any store.

Tacos and jeans? This is one food truck we can definitely be truly crazed about.

Yesterday, J.Brand officially re-launched their website and entered into the competition between big fashion brands for who's got the best and most tech-savvy site of all.

Shopping for the perfect new jeans with just the right fit and wash online can be a little tough, but J.Brand's made everything a lot easier, and a lot more fun. In addition to their already established ecommerce page, J.Brand's now offering up three new ways for the customer to interact.

The first is called "Style Notes," a section of the new site where a pair of the season's most popular denim is spotlighted and styled in different ways by guest editors and stylists like Brad Goreski. Users of the site will be able to buy these expertly styled looks and share them via social media.

We're particularly excited about the section called, "In The Pocket." Here, visitors will be able to check out behind the scenes footage from insiders at the brand, as well as learn more about the overall culture of the company. There will also be news content and contributing blogger posts as well.

And in case you aren't Brad Goreski or a popular style blogger, there's still room for you to contribute to J.Brand's new content. "J World" is a section of the site dedicated to user-created content where fans and customers can upload photos of themselves wearing J.Brand styles and share it, via collage, to the whole world (think Burberry's "Art of The Trench" that came out last year).

So like we said before, it's an exciting time for J.Brand, but they're one of many fashion forward-thinking labels that have finally decided to get into digital marketing. Within the last few months, designers like Rag & Bone, DVF, Tory Burch and Dolce and Gabbana have launched new versions of their own sites and blogs in hopes of being the biggest and baddest social media masters in the game.

It took the fashion crowd quite a while to stop being afraid of the Internet and start using it to their advantage, especially those in the realm of Prada and Louis Vuitton, but we've got to say that it's an exciting time to be clicking through these stylish sites.

Celeb Cutoffs



Back in 2005, Jessica Simpson pranced around the set of The Dukes of Hazzard wearing tiny cut off denim shorts and really, not much else. From there on after, the down-home Texas girl was rarely seen in anything but denim daisy dukes - whether she's on stage two-stepping with her cowboy boots or walking her dog in YSL tributes, the ripped jean short is definitely Jess' signature style staple.

This season, the spring runways showed plenty of cute cut off denim a la Jess Simpson - from Balmain's rock-n-roll inspired jean to Isabel Marant's sportier short ensemble.

Somehow, we've managed to fall in love with denim all over again. Just when we thought we knew every which way to wear Levi Strauss's creation, we catch a glimpse of dip-dye denim, or see it paired with a black cocktail dress.

Christine Cameron of My Style Pill paid tribute to the timeless fabric in an ultra-faded denim vest and a tribal print namesake dress (ModCloth just named a dress in her honor).

Maybe it was the vest's sharp detailing and faded wash, the kitsch stack of bracelets, or the effortlessly cool Foster Grant shades, but the whole look embodied everything we love about summer. And not that we're counting or anything, but there are only four days left until the official start of this glorious season.

Jonny Johansson -- founder of Swedish cult denim brand Acne -- described his latest resort collection as, "a crash of two things that don't belong together." Which at the surface would be a risk not worth taking for the designer -- Johansson's business formula of flattering skinny jeans allowed him to flourish in a recession. But now he says, "We're at a level financially to explore." So did his collection, which consisted of less than a handful of denim pieces pay off? Absolutely.

The styling of the presentation -- which he described as "thought-through mistakes" -- consisted of volume, volume and more volume. From the layers of clothing to the windswept updos, the looks were polished, but not entirely proper.

When asked which ensemble was his favorite, the designer smiled and cited the closing number, a black floor-length dress paired with tattered denim jacket and dark shades was inspired by the surreal film "Mulholland Dr." by David Lynch. "She [the model] created an experience when she walked into the room," Johansson said, adding that the combination of femininity and greaser-like denim anchored the 16 runway looks.

His new aesthetic will certainly be reflected in his latest venture -- an Acne outpost in a former garage on Boulevard Beaumarchais in Paris.

When asked what advice he would give to summer interns, the man with no fashion training advises those seeking careers in style to garner as much experience as they can. And he adds with a laugh, "plus, they can always call me!"

Meanwhile, Chloe Sevigny opened up about her first fashion internship.

Red pants are having a moment: Celebs such as Alexa Chung, Demi Moore and Hayden Panettiere have all been seen wearing the bold-hued bottoms recently. On the spring/summer 2011 runways, Balmain, Isabel Marant and other designers embraced the trend. And last Friday, The New York Times reported that J. Brand has sold approximately 100,000 pairs of colored jeans since March.

Evocative of Nantucket summers and preppy culture (see Chuck Bass rocking a pair with an ascot), red pants have long been a hallmark of New England style.

But for us, red pants have another association: Loverboy's hit 1981 album, Get Lucky. Though the wearer of the leather pants seen on the album cover is actually the photographer's 14-year-old daughter according to Loverboy guitarist Paul Dean, lead singer Mike Reno also donned a tight red pair for the band's classic "Working for the Weekend" video.

Loverboy wasn't the only musical act of the era to make red pants look rock-chic, or the first. New Wavers The Romantics sported dapper red suits on the cover of their 1980 self-titled debut record. Rod Stewart's 1983 effort Body Wishes was critically panned, but we applauded his jaunty cover getup. And of course we have to mention Michael Jackson's unforgettable red leather ensemble in the video for "Thriller."

How to Customize Jeans with Coffee

I am sure that I'm not alone when I say that finding the perfect denim fit for my body type has been the bane of my existence.

And to add to the anxiousness I feel while shopping for jeans is the fact that there are many denim washes to wade through. While I myself am a solid wash kind of girl, I have a soft spot for ultra worn-in duds. I'm talking about those paint-stained, hole-in-the-knee, frayed around the edges jeans that nearly feel like sweat pants when you throw them on.

While running to the closest mall and purchasing a pair for triple-digit prices is an easy answer, why not take a pair of jeans you haven't worn in ages and alter them aesthetically?

High Rise Denim



High-rise denim is back.

After witnessing runways filled with bell bottoms and longer hemlines, we know by now that the Seventies' influence has taken over for Spring 2011, and the trends in denim are no different. This season, some of the best denim makers out there are introducing a higher rise, a cut that addresses both fashion and function.

"A high or mid-rise style elongates the leg - especially when it's a flare or trouser style - and creates a long, lean line," Mille Monferin, 7 For All Mankind's denim design director, told StyleList. "A great way to offset the volume of a wide leg style is with a higher rise." Comfort, he said, is definitely a big part of it too. "Higher rises offer more control and help avoid the dreaded muffin top," Monferin said. "There's nothing chic about constantly having to yank up your jeans."

J Brand's founder and chief executive officer, Jeff Rudes, told StyleList that while they have offered some high-rises in past seasons, their popularity for spring has grown in a big way. This has led them to increase their offering of the style - there's a wide-leg, flare and even a skinny jean all with higher rises. But, he said, this doesn't mean his jeans at J Brand are exactly like they were in the Seventies. "With modern technology, denim fabric is lighter weight, softer and with stretch so it is much more comfortable than the high-rise styles that were worn in the Seventies," he stressed.

James Jeans is also offering an array of newer high-rise styles for spring. According to Seun Lim, creative director at James, the new "High Class" series of jeans will include some of the brand's top bodies in rises ranging 9 ½ inches to 9 ¾ inches. There's also a new mid-rise option that features an 8 ¼ inch rise in a straight leg or a flare. "The biggest benefit of our mid to high rise styles is the way the waist bands are uniquely contoured from front to back," Lim said. "The front is perfectly leveled for a sexy look and feel, and the back is higher and therefore provides added comfort and assurance that your undergarments won't be peeking out."

Chip Foster, who founded the Chip & Pepper denim brand with his twin brother, is off on a new venture. He just launched a denim line he calls Pray For Mother Nature. For spring, Foster said he has taken six of their original low-rise styles and made them higher. "Higher rises tend to be universally flattering and no matter what, almost everyone loves a little more support," Foster explained. "No matter the body type, you can rock a mid-rise jean."

Jill Shehebar, marketing director at Blank NYC, agrees with Foster. That's why they've been offering higher rises since they opened for business. For spring and summer, the company has taken the trend a step further by offering high-rise cut-off denim shorts and self-belted aviator shorts along with their already popular high-waisted skinnies. "The high rise skinny we have this season has really cool color block front detail and back stitch," Shehebar said. "For late spring and fall, we have more high rise flares and belles. High rise is universally flattering if styled the right way." And, if styled correctly, you don't have to be worried about looking like you are wearing "mom jeans."

How to avoid the matronly look? "Pair them with a romantic blousy top, or a tailored shirt tucked in," suggested Francis Pierrel, senior vice president of retail and wholesale for Diesel, which is also introducing two new high-rise styles for spring - the Hi-vy, a high-waisted skinny, and the Ronhoir, a high-waisted bootcut. "For younger girls, the crop top is making a come-back. Accessories also help spruce up the look, pairing a sexy wedge or heel and a chic handbag."

Tennis ace Rafael Nadal reveals (almost) all in this video, the latest installment of a campaign for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans.

The sizzling campaign also stars Megan Fox (see her teaser underwear video here) in a separate series of images.

Currently ranked the world's No. 1 tennis player, Nadal has won twice at Wimbledon and five times at the French Open. He was shot for Armani by famed photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

Hudson Jeans spokesmodel Georgia May Jagger is now a designer at the premium denim brand.

The 19-year-old daughter of legendary rocker Mick Jagger and model Jerry Hall, Georgia May worked closely with Hudson head designer and creative director Benjamin Taverniti to create her sexy rock 'n' roll-inspired collection.

"I was always interested in styling on the shoots so I was really excited when the line came about," Jagger told StyleList. "I really wanted to be involved in the creative process and it was great to be able to give my point of view."

In order to initially show her creative interest, she submitted sketches and inspirational photos (which included items from her mother's vintage Wrangler collection as well as images of rock icons Guns n' Roses) to Taverniti. When the agreement was made that Jagger would have her own collection under the Hudson brand, she oversaw every aspect of putting the collection together -- choosing materials, washes, rises, inseams, pocket placements and trim details.

"When I first met with Ben in London, we discussed my jean inspiration," Jagger explained. "I brought in sketches and jeans I liked. From that initial conversation, all the way through to production, I discovered how much time and effort goes into developing a collection."

The result is the launch of Hudson by Georgia May Jagger, a capsule collection consisting of five jeans styles -- all skinny leg openings with a mid-rise in order to fit a wide range of body types. The jeans come in black, white, gray and blue washes and have been made with what Jagger said are new kinds of stretch denim fabrics created especially for this line.

"My collection has a whole new cut, they are based on the style of jeans my mum wore in Texas in the '70s," she explained. "They are not high waisted, but they are a mid-rise, which is great for us shorter girls."

The Hudson by Georgia-May Jagger collection is set to launch March 17 in Neiman Marcus and on the line's Web site. It will also be available in specialty stores nationwide. If you are in the L.A. area, Jagger is planning a personal appearance at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills on March 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The collection retails from $176 to $308.

Megan Fox stars in new advertisements for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans, the first images from which came out last month.

Now, designer Giorgio Armani has released a video teaser from the campaign. In the very brief clip, the tattooed Fox is shown in underwear and jeans, hanging out under a piece of black gauze that's being blown by a fan. (Fashion people -- so crazy.)

Fox is also the face of Giorgio Armani cosmetics.

A longer video from the new campaign is expected next week. Perhaps it will feature more gauze.

We catch everyone from Kim Kardashian and Anna Wintour to Lady Gaga and Paris Hilton gabbing, snapping pics, and texting away on their favorite gadgets.
