"We wanted to have beautiful pictures [of the shows]. After, when I saw the show and I saw how it makes them very mechanical, I understood sometimes the pain on the feet. There is a lot of emotion. I was like, back to toe ground. We wanted something easier. It's old to have those girls walking like that, so I tried to stop that craziness. School uniforms were the bain of every fashion-loving girl's existence back in middle and high school. Itchy plaid skirts, navy or khaki pants and plain white button downs can be such limiting ensembles, leaving little to no room for one's personal style to shine day-to-day. But as the summer's winding down and we're getting nostalgic for those back-to-school shopping trips, we're starting to look at those plain jane uniforms in a whole new light.

In fact, we've noticed that some of the biggest players in fashion favor that neutral, uniform look when it comes to dressing up for their everyday (and incredibly busy) lives. Is the straight-edge rule of dressing making a comeback amongst trend-setting adults? Here's a list of the top ten most fashionable uniforms worn in the industry today.

Gaga's Workshop to Hit Barneys This Holiday Season

Usually around Christmas time, most department stores are happy to deck their windows and interiors out with the usual holiday decorations - a big tree, a questionable-looking Santa Clause, twinkly lights and maybe some holly and jingle bells. Barneys New York however, isn't most department stores. So when it came time for Creative Director Dennis Freedman and the rest of the new creative team to brainstorm a concept that would trump the average trip to see Santa at the mall, they decided to take the winter wonderland fantasy and turn it on its head.

This year, starting in mid-November, the entire fifth floor of Barney's Madison Avenue flagship store, as well as its windows, will be transformed into Gaga's Workshop - a space created in collaboration with Gaga, AVAF (Assume Vivid Astro Focus) and of course, Nicola Formichetti. Not only can you experience Lady Gaga's interpretation of what santa's workshop looks and feels like, there will also be limited-edition gift items for purchase, with 25% of all proceeds going to a charity of Momma Monster's choice.

Barneys has really been on a role lately, especially with Dennis Freedman's new creative direction and Carine Roitfeld's much-talked about styling (and modeling) job on the new campaign. Bringing Gaga, Formichetti and AVAF in to create a new and innovative holiday concept just seems like the perfect next step for the out-of-the-box department store.

So what can we expect from Gaga's Workshop? Our guesses are endless at the moment, but one thing's for sure upon hearing this news, that enthusiastic excitement we used to feel as a kid when our parents took us to the mall to see Santa is definitely back.

The Great American Road Trip: Savannah, Georgia

We've made it to Savannah, Georgia! There's tons of charm and hospitality in this quaint Southern city. We'll start with a tour of the Owens-Thomas House -- this English Regency-style mansion is a national historic landmark. Then we're on to the Telfair Arts Academy, one of the oldest public art museums in the South. Twin Sister's Andrea Estella | The 5 Things I Can't Live Without

Fans of Twin Sister's ethereal, lo-fi indie pop can look forward to the band's full-length debut, In Heaven, out next month. In the meantime, we asked frontwoman Andrea Estella, also known for her quirky street style, to name her fashion and beauty essentials.

1. Charm bracelets: I like to collect these from thrift stores, antique stores and garage sales. I try finding things that are brassy or gold --small sea creatures or pretty stones. I add the charms myself and I find it really hard to attach them since they can be so small! It's all worth it: I love hearing myself jingle. I wonder if my jingling gets on anybody's nerves...

2. Giant shoes: I like importing shoes from Japan, Korea and China. I'm waiting for these really cute white platforms that have little angel wings around the ankles. I also like Jeffrey Campbell, like many girls do. They make me feel tall and they are a lot more comfortable than regular skinny high heels. They feel more like boots. I like to practice walking in them around the house.

3. Korean circle lenses: I'm finding myself not able to go out without my Big DM23 Brown or Dolly Black circle contact lenses! They enlarge your eyes and give you this cute watery eye effect. They are great for live performances and photo shoots. They really make your eyes huge! I love making myself look like an anime character or Magical Angel Creamy Mami. My favorite part is that they are clear in the center so they still use your natural color.

4. White/nude lacy bra: I like simple lace, something pretty. I wear a lot of sheer and see-through materials. It's nice to have a bra that is just a part of the outfit.

5. Shiny Silver Shampoo and Conditioner for Blondes: This is something I make very sure I pack with me where ever I go. It is a dark purple shampoo and conditioner that keeps your blonde hair from getting orange or too yellow. The sun, non-blonde hair products and chemicals from a pool can change the way your blonde hair looks. I like keeping my hair ashy and white.

There's no doubt that Vera Wang is an immensely talented designer but she's also equally, if not more lately, a very talented business women. She's pretty much monopolized the U.S. wedding market at this point, putting her name on everything from high and low-priced gowns and accessories, to registry items like bedding (even mattresses) and table wear, to wedding invitations and floral arrangements. She even wrote a book in 2001 called Vera Wang on Weddings.

Today, WWD reported that Vera's adding engagement rings to her growing stock of nuptial-minded materials. Months after the announcement of her debut collection for David's Bridal, the designer's now partnering with Zales on "Vera Wang Love," a collection of engagement rings, wedding bands and solitaire jewelry to be sold at over 500 of the retailer's stores in the U.S.
