False eyelashes are an easy way to make your eyelashes look lush. Whether you apply full strip lashes or individual lashes, they give you the look of longer eyelashes in a few seconds flat.

First Lady Michelle Obama recently achieved thicker looking eyelashes thanks to false eyelashes, as seen in this conspicuous photo. So how did she do it? Watch this video for our easy tips to apply false eyelashes like a pro.

Beauty Basics: Fake Eyelashes Step-by-Step

Wearing false eyelashes can be a really fun way to play up your eyes, but a lot of women are intimidated by them. Well, it's actually really easy - trust us! Makeup artist Carmindy's got a simple technique that'll turn you into a false lash pro in no time!

Mat Swajkos for AOL

STEP 1: Snip Lash in Half

Take an entire lash, and a pair of scissors, and snip the lash in half. It's better to only use half the lash because not everyone's eye lids are as long as the actual false lashes, so the half-lash will look more natural. Also, it's much easier to apply this way, because you won't have to bend it to fit the contours of your eyes.

STEP 2: Glue

Squeeze a little bit of glue on to your hand, a piece of paper, or the cardboard container the lashes come in. Then, gently dip the base of the lash in the glue, coating it evenly with a small amount of glue. Don't worry - even if it looks white, it usually dries clear. Wait 5-10 seconds for the glue to get sticky before applying.

STEP 3: Apply Lash

Apply the lash at the outer corner of the eyes, laying it against the base of your natural lash line with your fingers and holding it there for about 10 seconds.

STEP 4: Shade the Seam

Once the lashes are on and the glue dries clear, apply a light liner over the seam to disguise it. Carmindy recommends dipping a slanted liner brush in a dark shadow, and lightly tapping it over where the lashes meet the lids so the seam is well camouflaged.

STEP 5: Mascara

Blend your false and natural lashes with black mascara. Sweep the wand up from under your natural lashes all the way to the tips of the fake ones.

FINAL LOOK

Now you can play with fun, flirty lashes. It's easy, and the glamor payoff is huge. Try it - it's a lot easier than you think - pinky swear!

I have always heard there is no dumb question, but here it goes.

I see how to put on the eyelashes but how are they removed? Do you wear them for more than a day or do you remove and apply every day? Thanks to who can help/answer my question.

I have to wear lashes everyday due to loss of lashes. I would never cut lash in half. I cut the last 3 or 4 lash segments off, then trim out and shorten lashes with an ex-acto knife. It really depends on who has made the lashes. I then use an eyelash curler to shape before putting them on.
