Back to Beauty Lessons From the Women In Our Lives
Hilary Moss, Style News Editor, Huffington Post, and her mother, Elayne
This is a picture of my mom and me circa 1987. We were both apparently doing menswear before it was trendy, but don't ask about the socks; I'll admit they're inexplicable. My mother was and is still way into the all-natural look, so really the only beauty advice to come from the Moss household was always use Chapstick. At that age, I was mainly a fan of eating it (favorite flavors: Strawberry and Cherry, least favorite: the sunscreen type in the black tube), but as I got older, I realized that it doubled as a really great lip balm. You'll still find some floating around in my purse today.
