Tops have waistlines, too

A top like this Matty M Shirred Bodice Knit Tank, $78 at Nordstrom, can be a little tricky. If the fabric floats away from your body, you're golden. The neckline is interesting and will draw the eye upward, and the empire seaming should keep the shirt from accentuating your tummy. However, make sure the shirt is loose enough around the belly -- and empire waist doesn't always mean you're going to get a great fit. If the cut is straight, it's going to cling to your belly.
