#4. Hair and makeup

We were so happy that Charlize didn't continue the flapper theme into her hair and makeup, a la Nicole Kidman. There's no funky headband or feather hairpiece needed -- she's just going for A LOOK, after all. She's not attending a theme party. The loose, slightly wild curls are fabulous -- since the dress hangs fairly straight, it's nice to see body and texture in the hair. And the makeup is fabulous and simple. She plays up her eyes with a dark shadow (a great plan, especially for fair blondes like her), and keeps her lips neutral.
