#5. Hair and makeup

You've probably figured out by now that we love it when celebrities mix up simple and elegant. Leighton's hair looks like she made an effort, but it's still loose and a little wild, keeping it from looking stiff and overdone. Her makeup is classic and perfect for the opera -- a heavy liner on the upper lid and big eyelashes make her eyes stand out, but you are really drawn to her beautiful red lips. The drop earrings framing her face don't hurt, either. Over all, we think this is a great look -- it's really classy, but still a little bit fun, just like a girl going to the opera should look.
