KA: Many of us, not only the mousy, dirty blondes, have a longing for that light, airy, fresh color we had when we were growing up. Back then, the sunlight during summer breaks took care of lightening our hair for us. There are many brunettes who were much lighter when they were little, but as we get older, our hair tends to darken. I believe that many of us reflect back to those carefree days of our youth and have a strong identification of light and soft. Also, being blonde in our culture is associated with sex appeal and a kind of freeness. The classic, iconic blondes we often refer to like Marilyn Monroe, and the modern ones like Gwyneth Paltrow, Christina Aguilera and Scarlett Johansson personify that sex appeal and carefree life that we all want to have. Last, lighter shades tend to soften harsh features, making it a much more forgiving shade. It is really fun to see your hair lighten, it's kind of magical.
