Designer Nicolas Ghesquiere gave us a show full of directional clothing. And by directional we mean new, interesting and creative, but also tough to pull off if you're not a bold, fashion-centric dresser. The bulky braided leather outerwear? Not crazy flattering. And the loose, mid-calf dresses might not work for everyone. But the sculptural shapes, elegant prints and new ideas in this collection will sink in and train our eyes over the next six months, and by next season it will all look just right. Ghesquiere is they type of designer who keeps just ahead of the curve, and this is what keeps fashion moving at a clip. So look with an open mind and remember that by next season it’ll all be right on trend.
