Rick Owens, not a trend-follower he, has been doing his signature long, lean silhouette since his namesake label’s inception. He tends to favor a narrow, floor-grazing, clingy-in-all-the-right-places jersey dress or skirt. For fall it was was more of the same, the only difference being that this season fashion’s fickle tide happens to be in sync with his personal vision. The reed-like shape was ubiquitous for Fall 2011, and Owens suddenly seems trendy. The best pieces from this show were the fitted, paneled leather jackets that broke up the long silhouette and added an extra dose of attitude.
