This was the house's 90th anniversary, so there was reason to celebrate, and designer Frida Giannini did a bang-up job. There was an overall '70s feel to the looks, personified by the nipped-in waists, wide-leg trousers, chubby fox stoles and fedora hats. But the strongest message in the collection was the unlikely mixture of hues, from acid brights to deep jewel tones. It gave an overall electricity and worked beautifully. But then Giannini further amped up the wattage toward the end of the show, with a series of floaty, sheer chiffon dresses, slit up the the waist with only briefs underneath as cover-up. Oh la la.
