Anecdote: I originally had no desire to go to prom. My mom and I went to try on dresses, and I fell in love with this one, but refused to let her spend that much money on a dress for, of all things, prom.
That night I walked into my bedroom and the dress, shoes, and earrings were on my bed. My dad had went and purchased everything for me. The best part of my prom was wearing the dress because I loved it so much and my dad surprised me with it.
