The death of former Miss Argentina Solange Magnano due to complications from gluteoplasty has triggered a huge interest online with people logging on to uncover what exactly is gluteoplasty. Gluteoplasty is a procedure where implants are inserted into the buttocks to create a more shapely curve (à la Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé). When I heard that former Miss Argentina Solange Magnano died of a lung blood clot Sunday after three days in critical condition following a butt augmentation, I was afraid of the media circus that would ensue ? painting all kinds of scary and untrue pictures out of what is a very tragic death. For one, reports that Magnano was injected with a liquid that went straight to her lungs and brain make no sense to me ? that sounds made up by someone unfamiliar with the surgery.

A cosmetic procedure to have her buttocks sculpted has ended in tragedy for a model and former beauty queen. Solange Magnano, who won the title of Miss Argentina in 1994, died Sunday at the age of 38 following complications from a gluteoplasty procedure.
